Put Jesus First

Verse of the Day: Colossians 1:17

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

God’s omniscience meant that He had foreseen our need for our salvation so He planned our salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, even before the beginning of the world. Prior to humanity’s fall into sin, God had already established a path for our reconciliation to Him—through the death and resurrection of Jesus on Calvary. God predestined Jesus to be before all things, placing everything under His authority and appointing Him as head over everything for the church (Ephesians 1:22). If you feel like things are falling apart, turned upside down, or lack meaning, prioritize Jesus in your life. When you do, everything else will fall into place and be held together by God’s power.

To Seek and To Save

Verse of the Day:  Luke 19:10

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Because of the actions of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden sin entered the world and separated us from God. But God loved us so much He made a way for us to be saved. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to this world to seek and to save the lost, to offer us the free gift of salvation. He rescued us from a life of sin, from the guilt of sin and from the power of sin when He paid the ultimate price on Calvary. He did this so our relationship with God could be restored. So then, what shall we do to receive this gift? Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:28) As followers of Christ, it’s our duty to share this Good News with the world while there is still time.

No Other Way

John 14 6 (4)

Verse of the Day:  John 14:6

Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Through the sacrifice made by Jesus on Calvary, God made a way for us to be saved from death and be with Him in heaven for all eternity. There is no other way to come to the Father, but through the Son. Not by works, merit or personal sacrifices. Jesus is the only way, He is our Savior, and there is no other way. He is the true way to the Father. His way is not only true but He is the truth itself. Christ is the author and giver of life, natural, spiritual and eternal. (John Gill’s Exposition)
