God Sent His Son

Galatians 4:4-5

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 4:4-5

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

God had predetermined that He would send His Son, Jesus, to save the world from sin. When that time came He sent Jesus to live among us and to ultimately pay the price for ours sins, bringing redemption to all humanity. Jesus was born and died so that, by faith, we could receive the gift of adoption with the power, authority and privilege from God through Jesus and a right to our heavenly inheritance for all eternity. (Gill’s Exposition)

The Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. Yet, because of God’s great love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price that set us free. Eternal life is a gift given to us by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast about earning or deserving eternal life, it is a free gift from God. Eternal life is not just life after death and it’s not just the destination of heaven. It’s also the present journey of knowing the one and only true God and Jesus Christ. True eternal life begins with a personal relationship with the Lord. Start living eternally and not merely existing, love one another and love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

Now Is the Time

2 Corinthians 6:2

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 6:2

For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Jesus came to save the world at the right time, a time that was preordained by God. God sent His only Son to pay the price for ours sins and to make a way for us to be saved. From that day up to the second coming of Christ is the time for salvation. That means we are currently living in the day of salvation and have the opportunity right now to be saved. Now is the right time to give your life to God, now is the right time to heed His call, today is the right time to be saved. We don’t know the exact day when Jesus is coming for His people but He’s is coming soon. We don’t know what tomorrow brings so don’t put off your salvation until it’s too late.

Guilt, Shame and Forgiveness

Psalm 51:1-2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 51:1-2

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

There isn’t anything you can do to earn God’s forgiveness. You are forgiven because of who God is not who you are. You are forgiven because God is merciful, loving and compassionate towards His people. God sent His only Son to pay the price for your sins. Pour out your soul to God for mercy and grace. Confess that you are a sinner who needs a Savior and believe that Jesus died to save you. You have been washed from your sins by the precious blood of the Lamb. Repent from your sin and let go of the guilt and shame of sin you’ve been carrying with you because God has forgiven you and wiped your slate clean. It’s time for you to forgive yourself and start living the life God planned for you.

To Seek and To Save

Verse of the Day:  Luke 19:10

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Because of the actions of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden sin entered the world and separated us from God. But God loved us so much He made a way for us to be saved. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to this world to seek and to save the lost, to offer us the free gift of salvation. He rescued us from a life of sin, from the guilt of sin and from the power of sin when He paid the ultimate price on Calvary. He did this so our relationship with God could be restored. So then, what shall we do to receive this gift? Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:28) As followers of Christ, it’s our duty to share this Good News with the world while there is still time.

How Great is Our God!

Psalm 145 8

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 145:8

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in mercy.

Where would we be if not for God’s grace, compassion, patience and mercy?  We serve a mighty God who can do anything and although we don’t deserve any of His compassion and goodness, He still loves us. He loves us so much and is so merciful that He sent His only Son to come into the world to redeem sinners by dying on the cross and paying the ultimate price for our sin. God loves us so much He made a way for us to be saved so we can spend eternity with Him. Proclaim with me the Lord’s greatness; let us praise His name together! (Psalm 34:3) How great is our God!

Live for Jesus

Romans 6 23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We were all born into a world of sin and at the end of a life of sin is eternal damnation; but because Jesus gave His life to pay for our sins we have been offered the gift of salvation and eternal life in heaven. God loves us so much that He gave His only Son so that we could be saved. Even though the road may be narrow and often times difficult, we can be sure that at the end we will have a blessed everlasting life with the Lord. He died for us and so now we should live our lives for Him. How do we live for Jesus? Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30).

Forgiveness

Psalm 86 5 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 86:5

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

God hates sin but He loves the sinners. If not for His love, mercy and forgiveness where would we be? He is good to all and offers forgiveness to anyone who calls on His holy name. He loves us so much He sent His only Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins so we could receive His forgiveness and mercy. He is ready to forgive and He won’t withhold His mercy. No sin is too great that He can’t forgive it. Come to Him with a sincere heart and ask to be forgiven through faith. Accept the Lord’s forgiveness and know that God will wipe the slate clean and give you a new start.

Beautiful Star of Bethlehem

Matthew 2 2

Verse of the Day: Matthew 2:2

Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star in the East and have come to worship him.

The long awaited sign that the Savior had been born finally appeared in the night sky.  The magi knew that the King of the Jews had been born and the prophecy fulfilled. (A star will rise from Jacob; a scepter will emerge from Israel. Numbers 24:17) The message of the star is peace on earth and goodwill toward men. The star is also the heavenly sign of a prophecy fulfilled and the shining hope for humanity because Jesus Christ the Messiah has come to pay for our sins so our relationship with God could be restored!
