Kind Words

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 16:24

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness doesn’t cost a thing yet it’s so valuable. We can build each other up with Loving and Kind words that promote hope and courage.

Bad Influences

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 22:24-25

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

Fruit of the Spirit: Friendships can have an influence on you, so make good decisions about the people you allow into your circle. Keep away from people who are easily angered and do not bring Love, Joy, or Peace to your life. Stay away from people who are not Kind, Good, or Gentle, and have no Self-control.

Walk in Love

Ephesians 5:2

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Walk in love by following the example of Jesus Christ. He loved us so much He gave all He had so we could be saved. Be imitators of Christ and let everything you do come from a place of love. To walk in love is not just to talk about it, but to actually apply it to our daily life by not letting our circumstances dictate our attitude. We can choose how we respond to situations in life and although we can never love as much as God loves us we can try our best to be patient and selfless. We can be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32) We can also give our time and be of service to others for the glory of God. As we walk through our days in love, may our continued praises and thanksgiving be an offering and a sweet aroma to the Lord.

Show Kindness to Your Enemy

Proverbs 25 21-22

Verse of the Day:        Proverbs 25:21-22

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.  In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.

Have you ever heard the expression “kill them with kindness”?  It means to put an end to anger and bitterness by showing kindness and generosity. As metals are melted by heaping coals upon them, so is the heart softened by kindness. (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary) The more you treat your enemy with unexpected kindness and generosity the more they will see the same love, forgiveness, mercy and grace that the Lord shows you.  Show kindness even to people who don’t deserve it, not as a reflection of their character but as a reflection of yours.

Love is Kind

Proverbs 3 3

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:3

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. (NASB)

Love is kind and your kindness shows compassion to the people you love. Often in relationships we slip into a comfortable state where we take each other for granted, not intentionally, but it happens and we no longer go out of our way to be kind. The Word of God tell us over and over again that we should be kind to one another even to strangers so how much more should we intentionally be kind to our loved ones?  When we have a relationship with God we come to understand what He has done for us because He loves us so much. His love changes us, it makes us kinder, compassionate, caring and forgiving. Because God has been so kind to us let’s choose to intentionally go out of our way to show kindness to the people we love.

Daily Encouragement

Hebrews 3 13.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 3:13

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

There is so much negativity in the world, on social media and everywhere we look. Instead of spreading negativity speak words of encouragement, pray for one another, remind each other of God’s wonderful promises. God has called each one of us to encourage each other daily. Don’t let sin harden your heart, instead be kind to one another. You never know what someone may be going through and a kind word may help them get through the day.

Walk in Love

Ephesians 5 2

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Live a life of love by following the example of Jesus Christ. He loved us so much He gave all He had so we could be saved. Be imitators of Christ and let everything you do come from a place of love. To walk in love is not just to talk about it but to actually apply it to your daily life. We can never love as much as God loves us but we can try our best to be patient, kind and selfless. We can give our time and be of service to others for the glory of God. As we walk through our days in love, may our continued praises and thanksgiving be an offering and a sweet aroma to the Lord.

Gentle and Humble

Matthew 11 29

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

If you’re feeling burdened, troubled, angry, out of control or your life is in turmoil turn to Jesus, He is the answer. Jesus is inviting you to take His yoke. In other words, humbly surrender to God’s will, be obedient to His Word and let Him guide and direct your life. Jesus was a great example of what it is to be gentle and humble. Gentleness = kind, mild in temperament; Humbleness = respectful, showing a modest estimate of one’s own importance. Follow the example of Jesus Christ, learn from Him and you will find rest for your soul.

God is Good to All

Psalm 145 9

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 145:9

The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

God is the essence of perfect goodness. He is kind, caring, compassionate, generous and merciful toward all who seek Him. There is not a single person God is not ready and willing to bless; not a single person who God does not want to see happy and not a single sinner God would not show mercy to.  Everything from God is good and all good things are from God. Turn to God, His goodness and love last forever.

Kind Words

Proverbs 16 24.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 16:24

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Let’s make an effort to encourage the people around us, especially the people we love and care about most.  Kindness doesn’t cost a thing yet it’s so valuable.  We can build each other up with loving and kind words that promote hope and courage.  A kind word can change someone’s entire day. Encourage love and kindness for they are never wasted in God’s eyes.
