Living by Faith

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Are you living a life focused on yourself? Are you living a life without purpose or peace?  In order to get to where God wants you to be you have to leave your old life and your old ways in the past. Surrender your life to God and focus on the future He has planned for you. Christ now lives in you and you don’t have to live by your own power or strength anymore. Start living by faith in Jesus Christ who loves you so much He died on the cross for you.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for loving me so much You were willing to die on the cross for me. Although I can never repay You, I will try my best to live every day for You. By faith, I surrender my life to You, my blessed Savior. Amen

A Cheerful Heart

Proverbs 15 15

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

You can choose to be worried and miserable or you can choose to trust God and be happy. The way to a cheerful heart begins with giving thanks to God in every situation. When God dwells in your heart there is peace and joy and when you live by faith God provides. You can always find something to be thankful for even if you have to look a little harder.

God is Holy

1 Peter 1 15-16.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 1:15-16

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

God is holy and He is calling you do be holy in all you do. He wants you to be obedient to His Word and live according to His will in every aspect of your life.  You might think, God is perfect and it is impossible for me to be as holy as God, but try anyway. It is better to shoot at the stars, even though your arrow never reaches them, than to fire it at the goal of a worldly life.

Hold On to Hope

Hebrews 10 23.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

As God’s children we need to hold on to the hope of God’s promises knowing that He is faithful.  God never changes His mind, He never forgets and His Word is true.  Even when it feels like He may have forgotten us, have faith and remember His timing is never late.

Love Yourself

Matthew 22 39

Matthew 22:39

Verse of the Day:   Matthew 22:39

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

This law expects that you love yourself, as we all should.  Many of us struggle with loving and taking care of ourselves.  We put everyone else first but the truth is we have to take care of ourselves first.  We can’t love anyone else if we don’t take care of our own health, mind, body, and spirit.  Remember to take care of yourself, you can’t pour out blessings from an empty cup.

Free from the Love of Money

1 Hebrews 13 5

Hebrews 13:5

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Money in and of itself is not evil, it is the love of money that will cause you to care more about worldly things than laying up your treasures in heaven.  If you focus on God and not just his blessings you can be content with what you have.

Ephesians 1:19

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 1:19

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power

You need to know that if you have been saved, the power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that is in you.  This power changes you from who you use to be to who God wants you to be if you submit to his will.  God’s great power is activated by the implementation of faith.  If you have big faith you can unleash great power.

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 13:5

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 13:5

Love…it keeps no record of wrongs.  – 1 Corinthians 13:5

Love fights fair.  We’re not perfect and there are going to be times when we disagree or have conflict but love fights fair.  It doesn’t bring up the past and it doesn’t purposefully hurt each other.  Love listens before speaking, is gentle, and fair.  Love tries to understand and love forgives.
