Love the Lord Your God

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 22:37

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

I was feeling a little discouraged, tired and disheartened so I began to search for a Bible verse to help me feel better. The Lord gave me this verse and instantly I felt inspired. I remembered that it’s not about focusing on me, it’s about focusing on God. The best thing we can do in all situations is to love the Lord with all our hearts, soul and mind and He will take care of the rest.

Lord, thank you for always being there when I need you. You are such a good father to me and I praise your holy name. Help me to remember that when I’m feeling overwhelmed I can turn to you for peace and comfort. I trust in you, Lord, to get me through difficult times. I will do my best to keep my eyes focused on you and to love you with all my heart, soul and mind in every situation. Amen

Make Every Day Count

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 90:12

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Tomorrow we will be ten days into the new year. Naturally we see this as a beginning yet we really don’t know how many days, weeks, months or years we actually will get to experience here on earth. Make every day count, use each day wisely and love the Lord with all your heart.

Your Inner Circle

Verse of the Day:   Proverbs 13:20

he who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

Choose wisely the people with whom you surround yourself, especially, your inner circle.  Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by those closest to us. Simply put, a learned behavior is a skill or action that is developed by watching or being told what to do. If you are regularly surrounded, counseled or given advice by people who don’t know the Lord you will be subjected to the things of the world and when you surround yourself with fools, you’ll be inclined to do foolish things. The people you associate with have an impact on your life, your success and your relationship with God. There is a saying that goes like this, “Tell me with whom you associate with and I will tell you who you are.”  Be determined to surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, who inspire you and most importantly, who love the Lord.

The Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. Yet, because of God’s great love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price that set us free. Eternal life is a gift given to us by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast about earning or deserving eternal life, it is a free gift from God. Eternal life is not just life after death and it’s not just the destination of heaven. It’s also the present journey of knowing the one and only true God and Jesus Christ. True eternal life begins with a personal relationship with the Lord. Start living eternally and not merely existing, love one another and love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

Live for Jesus

Romans 6 23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We were all born into a world of sin and at the end of a life of sin is eternal damnation; but because Jesus gave His life to pay for our sins we have been offered the gift of salvation and eternal life in heaven. God loves us so much that He gave His only Son so that we could be saved. Even though the road may be narrow and often times difficult, we can be sure that at the end we will have a blessed everlasting life with the Lord. He died for us and so now we should live our lives for Him. How do we live for Jesus? Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30).

God’s Love is Limitless

Psalm 36 5

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 36:5

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

God’s love is so high, deep and wide that we cannot even begin to comprehend it. You see, no matter what you do or don’t do, God will never love you any less and He cannot love you any more than He already does. His love for you is not based on who you are or what you do, it’s based on who He is and God IS love and His love is infinite. My prayer for you is that you may know, love and serve the Lord with all your heart. May your knowledge of God’s love for you bring you joy and peace all the days of your life. Amen.

Lend a Helping Hand

Proverbs 31 20

Verse of the Day:        Proverbs 31:20

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

As godly women who love the Lord we should aspire to help the poor and needy. Do what you can for as many as you can when you can. That doesn’t mean we all have to do extraordinary things. Sometimes, it’s simply a kind word, a sincere gesture or lending a helping hand to someone in need. Each of you should do what God puts in your heart to do and do it with love, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Live for Jesus

Romans 6 23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We were born into a world of sin but because Jesus gave His life to pay for our sins we have been offered the gift of salvation and eternal life.  Thank God for loving us so much that He gave his Only Son so that we could be saved and now because He died for us we should live our lives for Him. How do we live for Jesus?  Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30).

Celebrate Freedom!

2 Corinthians 3 17.jpg

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

As a nation, we are grateful for the freedom we have in this country and for many it’s a tradition to celebrate that freedom.  As believers in Jesus Christ, we have been set free from sin and when God is present in our lives we are free to believe, trust and love the Lord with all our heart so we can enjoy this life He has given us. Celebrate the true freedom that comes from knowing and having a relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ!

Sing Praises

Psalm 30 4

Verse of the Day: Psalm 30:4

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.

Have you ever noticed that no matter what is going on in your life singing praises to the Lord always makes you feel better?  Yes, we are singing to Him but in return we are overcome with God’s presence and overwhelming peace and joy.  Make singing praises to God a part of your day and you will definitely start to see a change in your mindset and attitude.
