Why We Should Serve

Mark 10 45 2

Verse of the Day:  Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

As believers in Jesus Christ we should follow the example He set for us. He is the beloved Son of God, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the Messiah yet He came to serve. How then can any of us ever think too highly of ourselves that we cannot serve others. Jesus showed us how to help the sick, the poor and the needy and we must, with humility and love, also do the same. He is calling us to serve others with a heart of compassion. He is giving us the opportunity to serve God by serving others and making the world a better place.

Serve One Another

Mark 10 45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Jesus was born a King, but by His example on how to live, He teaches us to be humble. The Bible says that Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. As ambassadors of Christ our lives should exemplify His characteristics and should reflect Christ in us. Let’s follow His example of humility by serving the less fortunate this holiday season and throughout the year. You can touch lives with your kindness and service to others by sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
