Christmas is For-giving

Matthew 6:14-15

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:14-15

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

We have all made mistakes, none of us are perfect. There are times we need to ask for forgiveness and there are times we need to forgive. How can we come to God asking for forgiveness when we ourselves have not forgiven our own trespassers? I know there are some things that seem unforgivable but when we hold on to blame and unforgiveness it creates an environment of bitterness in our own heart. Forgiveness allows you to begin the healing process and helps you to move forward with your life. Life is too short to hold on to pain and grudges from the past. Trust in God and let go of the anger and give the gift of forgiveness not only to the offender, but to yourself as well.

Take Care of Your Soul

3 John 1 2

Verse of the Day:  3 John 1:2

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

We all have been very focused on our physical heath lately due to the Coronavirus. It’s important to make sure you take care of your body and enjoy life, but don’t forget to also take care of your soul because good health starts from the inside. Do things that make you smile and bring you joy. Do volunteer work, it not only helps others, it also brings you joy. Forgive others, let go of anger and hurt so you can move forward leaving the past behind. Exercise daily faith, hope and love in your Christian walk. Above all, fill your heart with the Word of God and let your soul be renewed by spending time alone with God who daily refreshes your spirit.

It’s Time to Move Forward

Deuteronomy 1 6

Verse of the Day:  Deuteronomy 1:6

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain.”

The Israelites wandered the desert for 40 years because of their own disobedience and unbelief in God. If you feel like you’re wandering through life aimlessly without a purpose or direction, it’s time for you to start putting your complete trust in God. Start believing in His promises so you too can “get off the mountain”.  It’s time to move forward by faith towards the plans God has for your life.

Move Forward by Faith

Philippians 3 13

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 3:13

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.

Would haves, could haves and should haves are holding you back. None of us are perfect, we have regrets and have things we wish we would have done differently but if you want to move forward you have to let go of the past. Your sins have been forgiven and forgotten by the grace of God. If you want to move forward in life you have to stop living in the past. Your soul can heal, from whatever happened to you or the choices you made, when you give it to God. Move forward by faith and don’t let the hurt and pain of the past keep you from the joy God has planned for your future.

Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

1 Corinthians 13 5

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 13:5

(Love) it keeps no record of wrongs.

We’re not perfect and there are going to be times when we disagree or have conflict but love fights fair and it doesn’t keep score. It doesn’t bring up the past and it doesn’t use the past to purposefully hurt each other. Love listens before speaking, is gentle and fair. Love tries to understand and love forgives. Forgive and forget the mistake but remember the lesson so you can keep growing. Holding on to the past only keeps you from moving forward. Keeping a record of wrongs creates a bitter heart and a bitter heart can find no peace.
