Actions Speak Louder than Words

1 John 3 18 3

Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

It’s not always about the words you use when you try to tell people about Jesus. Sometimes actions do speak louder than words and it’s the way you live for Christ that makes the most impact.  Whether you know it or not, people are watching you. They are watching to see if your actions match your words. They know you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? No one is perfect and God is continually working in us but we can try our best to live a life of humility and integrity. Follow the example of Jesus and try your best to do everything with love. “May your life preach more loudly than your lips.” – William Ellery Channing

Happy Father’s Day

Proverbs 20 7

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 20:7

The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.

Fathers – You are responsible for teaching your children about the Lord.  Be a leader and live a life of integrity. Show your children love and compassion but discipline them when necessary. Bless your children by being the father God intended you to be. Children – Obey, respect and honor your father as the Lord commands. Fathers and children –  No matter how old you are, remember that no one is perfect, forgive each other as your heavenly Father forgives you and try to live in peace.

Love is Patient

1 Corinthians 13 4

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

No one is perfect and everyone has faults and quirks, but when we have genuine love we can learn to be patient and overlook the things that frustrate and possibly even annoy us. When we are patient and kind we try our best to focus on the wonderful qualities of the people we love. Just like our heavenly Father is patient with us we should also be patient with those we love.  It’s not always easy but don’t give up everything worthwhile takes effort.
