Christmas is For-giving

Matthew 6:14-15

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:14-15

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

We have all made mistakes, none of us are perfect. There are times we need to ask for forgiveness and there are times we need to forgive. How can we come to God asking for forgiveness when we ourselves have not forgiven our own trespassers? I know there are some things that seem unforgivable but when we hold on to blame and unforgiveness it creates an environment of bitterness in our own heart. Forgiveness allows you to begin the healing process and helps you to move forward with your life. Life is too short to hold on to pain and grudges from the past. Trust in God and let go of the anger and give the gift of forgiveness not only to the offender, but to yourself as well.

Joy Comes in the Morning

Psalm 30 5 (2)

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 30:5

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

As we go through life there will be times when, for whatever reason, we will encounter difficulties, pain or sorrow. Be comforted in knowing that no matter what you may be going through it’s only for a night (a season), it will not last forever. The mercies of God are new every morning and you may be weeping now but joy will come soon. Things may seem dark and hopeless now but with the dawn of a new day the sun rises once again and light breaks through the darkness. Hope is on the horizon. If you woke up this morning that means you’re alive and breathing. You have something to be thankful for so keep praising the Lord.

God Sees You

Genesis 16 13

Verse of the Day:  Genesis 16:13

She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

God sees you. He sees everything you are going through, He knows your heart and He knows your pain. He looks at you with His eyes of love, mercy and grace. God loves you more than you could ever imagine and you need to know that you are not alone. Trust God and give Him your brokenness, your pain and everything that is weighing you down. Call upon the Lord, praise Him and allow Him to heal your heart and lead you to restoration.

Pour Out Your Heart

Lamentations 2 19

Verse of the Day:  Lamentations 2:19

Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord.

God wants you to come to Him with the good and the bad. It’s easy to bring the good through praise and thankfulness but we also need to bring our problems and our troubles to Him. It doesn’t matter if it’s anger, frustration, confusion, pain, suffering, lay it all at His feet. Come to Him with a sincere heart, don’t hold back. Pour your heart out to God and tell Him exactly how you feel and what you need. He already knows what you’re going through but He wants you to bring it all to Him. God loves you and He hears every prayer. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:8)

God Can Turn It Around

Genesis 50 20.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

This is one of my favorite Bible verses because it reminds me that no matter what the devil tries to use to harm us God can turn it around and it use it for good. God can use your past to help others and your deepest pain can be used to set your calling in motion. God has a plan and a purpose for your life so no matter you’ve been through, what’s been done to you or what you’ve done God can still use you for His purpose. Trust in God and don’t give up.

The Hope of Eternal Life

1 11-7 1

Verse of the Day:   Revelation 21:4

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

There is no denying that evil exists in this world.  Some may ask why God allows horrible events to happen.  The truth is we may never have the answer to this question.  What we do know is that God loves us so much He sent His only Son to offer salvation to all. Even though we may suffer in this world, as Christians, we have the hope of eternal life with God.
