To Seek and To Save

Verse of the Day:  Luke 19:10

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Because of the actions of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden sin entered the world and separated us from God. But God loved us so much He made a way for us to be saved. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to this world to seek and to save the lost, to offer us the free gift of salvation. He rescued us from a life of sin, from the guilt of sin and from the power of sin when He paid the ultimate price on Calvary. He did this so our relationship with God could be restored. So then, what shall we do to receive this gift? Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:28) As followers of Christ, it’s our duty to share this Good News with the world while there is still time.

Immanuel

Matthew 1 23.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 1:23

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel which means “God with us”.

The prophecy revealed the birth of Jesus and they will call Him Immanuel, which means God with us. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and is always with us to the end of the age. This was all part of God’s divine plan for the salvation of man and the restoration of fellowship between God and man. How wonderful to know that God loves us, is with us and will never leave us.

Christ Died for Us

John 3 16

Verse of the Day:  John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God loved each one of us so much He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ. God gave us His Son, and the Son gave His life for us. This was all part of the plan of salvation so we could receive forgiveness for our sins and the gift of eternal life. Because of God’s grace and mercy, the gift of salvation is available to all through Christ.

O Little Town of Bethlehem

1 12-18 1 Luke 2 4-6.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Luke 2:4-6

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.

The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem is the fulfillment of the prophecy found in Micah 5:2. “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”  Bethlehem was a small city in Judah near Jerusalem. King David had been born in Bethlehem and Jesus, who came from the lineage of King David and whose lineage goes all the way back to Adam, was also born there.  Jesus is referred to as the King of the Jews from the beginning of His life to the end and it is no coincidence that Bethlehem’s literal meaning is “The House of Bread” because Jesus is the “Bread of Life”.  You see, every detail about the birth of Jesus, including being born in Bethlehem, was part of God’s divine plan for our salvation.

Because of God’s grace and mercy, the gift of salvation is available to all through Christ.
