Rich in Good Deeds

1 Timothy 6 18

Verse of the Day:  1 Timothy 6:18

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

In this world money comes and money goes. If you want to be truly rich in life you must do good deeds and cheerfully share what you have with those in need. Build your treasure in heaven by doing the work of the Lord. Check on the elderly and sick, feed the hungry, give to the poor and do what you can to help a hurting world know God. These kinds of things make a real difference and these are the things that enrich your life. Give, serve, love, these are the sacrifices that please God.

Praise the Lord!

Psalm 119 164

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 119:164

Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.

There is no set number of times a day we must praise God each day but wouldn’t it be wonderful if we just stopped what we were doing throughout the day to delight and please God with our praise, to give thanks and honor to the one who is worthy of praise? We have so much to be thankful for and it doesn’t take but a few moments to say, “Thank you God!” It doesn’t even matter what we are going though, even in difficult times, through faith we can still lift up our hands to praise our God. We can praise Him with our words and with our singing and give Him all the glory!

Be a God Pleaser

galatians 1 10

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 1:10

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

We all fall into the trap of trying to please people, especially the people we love. Being a people pleaser isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It shows that you are caring and you enjoy making other people happy. But when you seek the approval of people over God it definitely becomes a problem. Far too often it comes at the expense of your own needs or at the expense of your relationship with God. Don’t be negatively influenced by people who don’t know God, instead be strong in what you believe and why you believe it. By living a life that is focused on God’s truth and is pleasing to Him you will attract the right people into your life.

What’s Required?

Micah 6 8.jpg

Verse of the Day: Micah 6:8

What does the Lord require of you?  To do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

God wants you to treat others fairly, behave morally righteous, show compassion and forgiveness even to those who don’t deserve it.  Be respectful, gentle, live modestly, not thinking too highly of yourself.  You don’t always have to behave the way you feel, but you should always behave in a way that pleases God.

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 1:10

We all fall into the trap of trying to please people, especially the people we love.  But the truth is, the only one we need to please is God. Don’t be influenced by people who don’t know God, instead be strong in what you believe and why you believe it.   By living a life that is focused on God’s truth and is pleasing to Him we will attract the right people into our lives.
