That I May Know Him Better

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 1:17

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.

My deepest desire will always be, that I may know God more and that I may grow closer to Him with every day, week, month and year that passes. My hope is that I may continue to gain wisdom and revelation that brings me closer to God. I want a deeper relationship with my God that helps me to live a life more pleasing to Him. I want my creator to fix what is broken in me, to heal what the world has hurt in me so that I am able to be who He created me to be. I want more of you, God, less of me and more of you.

Dear Lord, Grant me wisdom and revelation, so that you I may know you better. Fix what is broken in me and heal what is hurting me so that I may have a deeper relationship with You. I just want more of you, Lord, and less of me. Amen

Spiritual Gifts

1 Peter 4:10

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 4:10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

God gives each of us talents, abilities and gifts that He expects us to use to serve others. Gifts of wisdom, faith, discernment, teaching, administration, service, mercy, hospitality, encouragement and others have been given to us for His purpose, not ours. This Christmas season let the focus be less on ourselves and more on others. If we truly want to please God we must faithfully be generous with our gifts and use them to bless others and to build up God’s kingdom.

Sing During Prayer

Psalm 100 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 100:2

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

God is good and giving Him grateful praise through songs is a beautiful way to worship Him during your prayer time. Come before the Lord’s presence with singing and let your spirit praise Him with gladness and freedom singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness for His love and mercy. When you come before the Lord singing joyful songs not only does it please God but it also refreshes your own soul. It doesn’t matter how well you sing; what matters is that it comes from your heart.

The Words of Your Mouth

Psalm 19 14 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 19:14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Let your words and thoughts be pleasing to God when you pray, praise and give thanks. Likewise, let your words be pleasing and acceptable to Him in your everyday conversations and thoughts. Fill your mind and heart with positive thinking so there will be no room for negativity or sinful thoughts. Sometimes it’s difficult to stay positive in a negative world, but if you stay focused on the Lord who is your Rock and Redeemer, you can have peace in all circumstances.

A Two-Step Process

Psalm 37 3.jpg

Verse of the Day: Psalm 37:3

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

God’s promises are often conditional. In other words, you have to do your part and God will do His part. There is a two-step process to receive this promise from God. The Lord will take care of all your needs but you need to trust in Him and do good. Notice the verse says “and” do good, not “or” do good. While you are waiting and trusting on God to fulfill His promise have faith. Moreover, do good, always keeping his commandments and doing the things that are pleasing to the Him.

Let Them See God in You

Colossians 4 5.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 4:5

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

There is no doubt we all live very busy lives.  We work, we have families to take care of, appointments to keep, people to see and things to do.  It’s important that we give our best to the things we do. Whether we realize it or not, people are watching us to see if we practice what we preach.  Always conduct yourself in a way that pleases God because you represent Him in everything you do. Let them see God in you and in everything you do.

Be a God Pleaser

galatians 1 10

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 1:10

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

We all fall into the trap of trying to please people, especially the people we love.  But the truth is, the only one we really need to please is God. Don’t be negatively influenced by people who don’t know God, instead be strong in what you believe and why you believe it.   By living a life that is focused on God’s truth and is pleasing to Him we will attract the right people into our lives.
