Happy Monday!

Proverbs 6 10-11

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 6:10-11

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

Although we may be tempted to hit the snooze button on the alarm a few more times, especially on a Monday, it’s time to rise and shine for another week of work.  Laziness may sound good now but you’ll pay for it later. Hard work brings prosperity, laziness brings poverty.  Take pleasure in the work God gives you and do your work diligently for the glory of the Lord. Work is a gift so be cheerful and thank God  for your job.

Compassion for the Impoverished

Matthew 9 36

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus was not only concerned for the souls of the multitudes who followed Him, but also for their physical needs. We are called to be Christlike – gentle, caring and compassionate. There is a homeless epidemic in this country, many people are living in poverty and people are going hungry. Everywhere you look there are people who need help. People are hurting and it’s up to us as Christians to find a way to do what we can to help them and to share the love and compassion of God. If not us, then who?

Happy Monday!

Hard Work Pays Off

1 11-6 1

Verse of the Day:   Proverbs 6:10-11

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

Even though we may be tempted to sleep in late, especially on a Monday, it’s time to rise and shine for another week of work.  Laziness may sound good now but you’ll pay for it later.  Whether we work outside of the home or not, or are a stay at home parent, we need to do our work diligently and for the glory of the Lord.
