Daily Encouragement

Verse of the Day:   Hebrews 3:13

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

There is so much negativity in the world, on social media and everywhere we look. Instead of spreading negativity speak words of encouragement, pray for one another, remind each other of God’s wonderful promises. God has called each one of us to encourage each other daily. Don’t let sin harden your heart, instead be kind to one another. You never know what someone may be going through and something as simple as a kind word may help them get through the day.

Lord, Thank you for another day of life and for all of your wonderful blessings. In a world filled with so much negativity, help us to encourage one another and to be kind to everyone we meet. Help us to show the love of Christ to a world that is hurting so that they may know your unfailing love and compassion. Amen

Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Verse of the Day:  2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

As we get closer to Christmas and the end of a very difficult year, let’s pray for peace in our hearts and in the hearts of others. True peace is a gift from God to those who keep Him in their hearts. Let’s not forget that we are all God’s children so we ought to pray for one another with love and unity. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the reason for the season. Christmas is not about the presents, it’s about His presence. May you and your loved ones find the true peace, love and joy!

Pray for Others

Ephesians 6 18 CEV

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 6:18 CEV

Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.

I cannot emphasize how important it is to pray for one another. In an age where everything is put on social media we may think we know what’s going on in each other’s lives but almost everyone we know keeps the things that hurt them the most hidden from their friends and family. People may push us away or refuse to hear God’s message and we may not know exactly what their needs are but God does. We can pray for overall healing, protection, salvation and for God’s will to be done in the lives of our friends and family. If God puts someone in your thoughts make sure you pray for them, you never know what they may be going through.

Standing in the Gap

Luke 5 20

Verse of the Day:  Luke 5:20

And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man your sins are forgiven you.”

In Luke chapter 5 some men carried a paralyzed man to see Jesus for healing. When they couldn’t reach Him, because of the crowds, they didn’t give up and they went through the roof. When Jesus saw their faith He forgave the man’s sins and his body was healed. Had it not been for the faith of the friends the man may never have been healed. You may know someone who is going through something so difficult it’s beginning to weaken their faith. That’s where your own faith comes in to play.  You can be the bridge to God by praying and interceding for your friends and family. You can stand in the gap by letting your faith carry them when they are weak.

Pray for Others

Intercession

1 Timothy 2 1

Verse of the Day:  1 Timothy 2:1

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people

Intercession is prayer said on behalf of and for other people.  God wants all people to be saved so we should be praying for everyone we know and even those we don’t know.  We can pray for their needs, their health and most importantly, for their salvation.  When we pray for others God’s love works through us. The greatest gift you can give someone is to pray for them.

Take Care of Your Soul

3 John 1 2

Verse of the Day:  3 John 1:2

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

Make sure you take care of your body, but don’t forget to also take care of your soul, good health starts from the inside.  Do things that make you smile and bring you joy.  Do volunteer work, it not only helps others, it makes you feel happy too.  Forgive, let go of anger and hurt so you can move forward. And remember, the most important thing you can do for your soul is to spend alone time with God.

Share the Love

1 John 4 11

Verse of the Day:  1 John 4:11

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

God’s love flows to us and it also needs to flow through us.  When we receive God’s love it will change our heart so much that we feel the need to share it with other people.  We can share God’s love by practicing forgiveness, compassion and by praying for one another. God’s love is meant to be shared so let your light shine everywhere you go.
