Verse of the Day: 2 Thessalonians 1:3
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
I am thankful for the love of family and friends. I’m grateful to have such wonderful people as part of my journey. Each person God has put in my life adds something unique and special to it and I love and appreciate them all. I’m thankful for the love we share between us, for the experiences we go through together and for the memories that will be in my heart forever. I’m thankful that in my time of need I have family and friends I can count on. As I thank God for them, I pray that He would continue to bless and protect them always.
Verse of the Day: Philippians 1:3
I thank my God every time I remember you.
Paul wrote this in a letter after he left Philippi where he had gone through some very difficult times, yet he chose not to focus on the things that had caused him pain. We ought to be like Paul and stay focused on the positive things in our lives and appreciate the great memories we have. I thank God for giving me strength to get through difficult times and I am thankful for the great memories I have of the wonderful people God placed in my life. And when I think of old friends and people who have helped me along the way, I say a little prayer asking God to bless them.
Verse of the Day: Ephesians 3:16-18
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
Just like Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, we need to pray for our family, our friends, even our enemies and the world in general. We need to pray that they would invite Jesus into their lives so they may experience His infinite love first hand and have a personal relationship with Him. We also need to pray that they would come to truly know Him, His grace, glory and how much He really loves them.
