Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:25
Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future.
A virtuous woman of God carries herself with strength and honor in her attitude and her behavior. She is in control of her actions and does everything with purpose and uprightness. She is respected for more than her outward appearance, she is respected for her godliness and holiness. She is confident because she knows God is in control of her life and the future.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:3
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Love is kind and your kindness shows compassion to the people you love. Sometimes we slip into a comfortable state where we take each other for granted, not intentionally, but it happens and we no longer go out of our way to be kind. The Bible tells us over and over that we should be kind to one another. How much more should we intentionally be kind to our loved ones? Let’s choose to go out of our way to show kindness to the people we love.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:5
The wise hear them and grow in wisdom; those with understanding gain guidance.
Solomon asked God to give him wisdom and understanding and it pleased the Lord, so He gave him wisdom and understanding beyond measure. The Book of Proverbs was written to guide people in how they should live their lives. Some say the Book of Proverbs doesn’t apply to today’s times, but it is as relevant now as it was then because God’s word is the same yesterday, today and forever. Learning is a life-long journey, even the wise can gain wisdom.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 23:18
There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
As followers of Christ we have the hope for a future not only here on earth but in heaven and for all eternity. Our hope is not anchored in things that are temporary but in God who is the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come. (Revelation 1:8) Our hope is in the Lord because He is our help and our shield and we can rely on His promises and plans for today, for tomorrow and for the future.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 13:20
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
Choose wisely the people with whom you surround yourself, especially, your inner circle. Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by those closest to us. Be determined to surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, who inspire you and most importantly, who love the Lord.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 22:6
Train children in the way they should go; when they grow old, they won’t depart from it.
Christmas is a great opportunity to start teaching children about Jesus. You can find ways to teach them the story of how and why Jesus was born and the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. For example, you can read stories from the Bible or children’s books appropriate for their level of understanding, you can sing Christmas carols and talk about their origins or you can use a nativity scene and other decorations, like a star to explain what they represent. Make the most of this opportunity to share Jesus with your family.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 6:10-11
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
Although we may be tempted to sleep in late, especially on a Monday, it’s time to rise and shine for another week of work. Laziness may sound good now but you’ll pay for it later. Whether we work outside of the home or not, we need to do our work diligently for the glory of the Lord.
