Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Luke 2:13-14

Verse of the Day:  Luke 2:13-14

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men

God’s good will in sending the Messiah brought peace into the world. The plan of redemption brings glory and praise to God in that He gave His only Son. Jesus, the Prince of Peace came to reconcile the world to God by His atonement for our sins. The gift of the Savior is an expression of God’s good will, love and mercy towards all men who will receive it. What a sight to behold it must have been to see the angels praising God. We have the hope that one day we too will be praising God with a multitude of heavenly hosts. Until that glorious day, this Christmas and all year around let the peace of Christ fill your heart with good will toward all.

Jesus is the Greatest Gift

Verse of the Day:   John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We are all sinners and the consequence of sin is death. But God loves each one of us so much He gave the greatest gift ever, His only Son, Jesus Christ. God gave us His Son and the Son gave His life for us that we might be saved. This was all part of God’s plan of salvation so we could repent and receive forgiveness of sins and receive the gift of eternal life. Because of God’s grace and mercy, the gift of salvation is available to all through Christ Jesus our Lord. But like every other gift, it must be received. You cannot buy it or earn it, but by faith you can receive the free gift of salvation.

To Seek and To Save

Verse of the Day:  Luke 19:10

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Because of the actions of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden sin entered the world and separated us from God. But God loved us so much He made a way for us to be saved. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to this world to seek and to save the lost, to offer us the free gift of salvation. He rescued us from a life of sin, from the guilt of sin and from the power of sin when He paid the ultimate price on Calvary. He did this so our relationship with God could be restored. So then, what shall we do to receive this gift? Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:28) As followers of Christ, it’s our duty to share this Good News with the world while there is still time.
