Verse of the Day: Psalm 34:15
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.
Who are the righteous? Righteousness is more than the things we do; it’s what Jesus did for us on Calvary. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. (Romans 3:22 NLT) Because we have been made right with God we can rest assured that when we are in distress we can cry out to Him and be comforted in knowing that He hears us.
Verse of the Day: 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sin, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Unconfessed sin can be a stumbling block that keeps you from getting closer to God. The Bible says, The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayers of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29) Even on your best days there may be sin in your life. When you pray, humbly come before the Lord and honestly confess your sins relying on His mercy and forgiveness through the righteousness of Christ. God is merciful and ready to forgive so don’t let unconfessed sin come between you and the Lord.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 34:19
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Life can be hard and at times may even seem unfair. You will go through tough times but don’t give up hope. Keep your mind on the things above. Keep praying. Cry out to God and be comforted in knowing that He hears you. Keep your focus on God and He will get you through the troubles that come your way and in due time you will be delivered from them all.
Verse of the Day: Ephesians 5:15-16
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
We are living in troubled times and it’s so easy to go astray from God’s ways. We need to live our lives conscientiously and with purpose. Jesus is your example of how to live a righteous and honorable life. Be diligent and wise in your decisions, making the most of every opportunity, always keeping your eyes focused on the Lord. Ask God to give you the wisdom you need to make the right decisions in your daily life and He will gladly give it to you.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 32:17
The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
God’s presence in our lives changes everything. When we submit to God’s will, He gives us a calmness and inner peace that nothing on the outside can take away. We’ll have a quiet confidence that no matter what happens we know God is in control and we know that God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
What God gives us through Christ is more valuable than any other present we could ever receive on Christmas day. Through the gift of God’s only Son, Jesus Christ our Savior we have been given the gifts of forgiveness, peace, hope, love, righteousness, redemption, joy, victory, eternal life and so much more. Thank Him today for His indescribable gift!
Verse of the Day: Jeremiah 9:23-24
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
Your true wisdom and value is not found in your own understanding, power or riches. It is found in knowing God and in salvation. I cannot boast about anything I have but I can boast about knowing the Lord. I can boast about His kindness, justice and righteousness. Everything I have and everything I am is because of Him and because of His unfailing love and mercy. If you’re going to brag about something, brag about the Lord.
