Verse of the Day: Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
We know that God can speak to you through his word when you read the Bible, when you hear a sermon, and when you pray. But He can also speak to you through other believers, through music, nature, even social media. God can speak to you in so many ways if you would only surround yourself with the things of God and put yourself in a position to be receptive to His voice.
Verse of the Day: Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. But because of God’s love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price that set us free. Eternal life is given by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast that He earned or deserved eternal life, it is a free gift of God.
Verse of the Day: Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
At times we come before the Lord feeling defeated to the point where words cannot convey what we want to say to Him. Tears stream down our face as we humble ourselves before the almighty God. It’s okay if we don’t have the right words, the Holy Spirit will intercede for us and step in to interpret what is in our heart.
Verse of the Day: Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
It’s not always easy being a good Christian in this crazy world. Even when it seems hard to keep our faith we need to hang in there. Our sufferings are just a moment in time and our glory will be eternal. It will all be worth it when we get to heaven.
Verse of the Day: Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We were born into a world of sin but because Jesus gave His life to pay for our sins we have been offered the gift of salvation and eternal life. Thank God for loving us so much that He gave His Only Son so that we could be saved and now because He died for us we should live our lives for Him. How do we live for Jesus? Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:29-31).
Verse of the Day: Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
It’s easy to see that the devil is busy stirring up evil all over the world. That’s why we, as Christians, need to keep vigilant and put on the whole armor of God. Don’t repay evil for evil, instead love your enemies and pray for them. Keep doing good deeds and don’t let evil weaken you. Be strong and courageous in your faith, be an overcomer.
Verse of the Day: Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Let’s encourage each other by giving honor where honor is due. Everyone needs to feel appreciated and we all know someone who deserves a little credit for everything they do. There are many ways to honor someone who truly deserves recognition. It can be as simple as saying thank you, your kindness has not gone unnoticed or it can be something extravagant. The point is to recognize and encourage them.
