Walking in God’s Word

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Navigating this world is no easy task. At times you may feel like you’re lost or walking in the dark but God’s Word is here to guide you and to show you the way you should go. The Bible is a light shining in the darkness. The more you study and know God’s Word, the more you can apply it to your daily life. The more you apply it to your life, the clearer the path becomes. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16) God’s Word is available to all and His commands and promises are accessible to all who believe and trust in Him. Let God guide you as you walk through life keeping His Word in your heart.

Read During Prayer

2 Timothy 3 16

Reading the Bible as part of your prayer can lead to enlightenment.  The Book of Psalms is a great place to start reading scriptures that turn into prayers. They’re full of wonderful praise and thanksgiving to God. Before you begin to read the Bible ask God to open your eyes and make clear what He is trying to show you. If you’re looking for a specific topic you want to address in prayer you can use a Bible concordance or look up verses on the internet. Once you find the Bible verse you want to focus on, read it, meditate on it, think about what it really means to you, then pray about it. God speaks to you in many ways including His written Word. He may open your eyes to something new when a passage you’ve read before suddenly becomes clear and impacts you like never before. Remember, when we pray, we talk to God; when we read the Bible, God speaks to us.
