Seek the Lord

Verse of the Day:   Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

A new year is the perfect time to start over. It’s a time of new beginnings, second, third, even ninety-ninth chances. It’s okay to start over, we serve a God of new beginnings. None of us are perfect but as long as you don’t completely give up, God will work with what you have right where you are. When you seek the Lord with a sincere heart you will find Him. God hears your prayers and knows your heart. God promises that if you humble yourself, pray, seek His face and turn from your sinful ways He will hear you. Make God a priority in the coming year by making time to read His Word and spending time with Him in prayer. God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you but it’s up to you to seek Him.

God almighty, I need You, I want to know You better, and I want a personal relationship with You. I pray that as I seek You with all of my heart, praise and worship You, You will reveal Yourself to me. Help me, Lord, to keep you first in everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Heavenly Father, I come to You with a sincere heart asking for Your love and mercy. Lord, I know that You are good and everything about You is good. I need You more than life itself and my deepest desire is to have a closer relationship with You. Help me, Lord, to seek you daily so that I may draw closer to You. Be the Lord of my heart and of my life. Without You, I am nothing but with You all things are possible. Blessed be Your name, Lord. Amen

The Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5 22-23

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The fruit of the Spirit starts to develop in you as you leave sin behind and begin to seek the Lord with all your heart. As your maturity and knowledge in Christ grows, so too will love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Although will power helps, it has its limits and you must truly come to depend on God’s power to change you. It doesn’t just happen overnight. God is constantly working on you to become more Christlike. It takes a lifetime of dedication and obedience to God and His Word as you are led by the Holy Spirit. Fruit grows where roots are deep. Be rooted in Christ and let Him be the foundation of your life and you will see more abundantly good fruit to the praise and glory of God.

Not Just a Sunday Event

Psalm 91 1

Verse of the Day: Psalm 91:1

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

When we choose God to be our shelter from the storms of life we find rest, peace and all that we will ever need. By faith we find comfort in the loving arms of God Almighty. When we trust in God’s plan for our lives and stay in His will we have nothing to fear. This is not just a Sunday event, this is a life-long journey and an intimate relationship. Seek Him with all your heart, invite Him in to every part of your life and stay in His gracious presence every day.

My Restorer

Psalm 30 11

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 30:11

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

For whatever reason, be it sin, mourning, sickness or some other kind trouble, if you are in a season of darkness you need to turn to God. He is the restorer of light and goodness. He will restore you and turn your sorrow into joy, your brokenness into beauty, your wailing into dancing. Seek the Lord by prayer and supplication having faith that God is able to change your circumstances and in His time, He will deliver you from your troubles. Until He does, keep praising Him because when the time does come, He can change things in the blink of an eye restoring your spirit, your mind and your heart.

Psalm 63 1

You need to make time with Him a priority and you have to want it more than anything else. Be consistent in your study of the Bible and pray continually.
