Verse of the Day: Romans 12:11
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
This year has been difficult to say the least. We’ve had a lot to deal with including the coronavirus, being quarantined, loss of jobs, natural disasters and civil unrest. Our schools closed, work places closed, stores closed, even churches closed. Through it all, God is still with us. Don’t let your spiritual relationship become lukewarm. Don’t let the troubles of this world come between you and God. All these things are temporary and this is not our eternal home. Keep serving the Lord, keep reading the Word of God, keep praying, keep singing, keep praising and worshiping, keep your soul on fire for God!
Verse of the Day: Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
If you’ve ever felt insecure for any reason, and most of us have, you can rest assured that you are God’s own masterpiece. Everything God makes is wonderful, including you. No part of you is a mistake for He made every single part of you precisely the way He want to and then He breathed a living soul into your body for His purpose. Praise God because His Word is true and you are unique and wonderfully made by the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Start seeing yourself the way God sees you, as His wonderful creation.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Just like bread (food) supports life to your body, the Word of God supports life to your soul. Your body can’t go too long without nourishment. Without food for prolonged periods your body becomes weak. It’s the same for your soul, without regular nourishment your soul too will become weak. God provided manna to the Israelites satisfying their hunger and in doing so, saved them. God has also provided the Holy Bible to satisfy your soul and save you from temptation. Jesus was tempted by the devil and in response He quoted scripture. If you don’t know scripture how can you use it to fight the schemes of the devil? If you want to be grow stronger spiritually, nourish your soul by reading the Word of God daily.
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
The Bible, which is the Word of God, isn’t some old irrelevant book of stories. It is alive and active today and forever. If you begin to read God’s Word daily, I promise, it will start to change your life. Ask God to reveal His Word to you. You’ll see how much He really loves you, His promises and His will for your life. Whatever you are going through the answer is found in God’s Word because it contains infinite wisdom from the Lord. Use it to guide you through life, to convict you when you need correction and to nourish your soul every day.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Throughout the Bible there are verses that encourage us to be diligent workers and there are also verses that say we need to rest, even God rested on the seventh day. Whether you are physically, emotionally or spiritually weary and burdened come to Jesus, believe in Him, trust in Him and He will give you rest for your body, mind and soul.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 43:5
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Life is not always sunshine and flowers. There are days when bad things happen, days when sadness creeps in and there are days when we just feel lonely. In these times, you need to lift your head toward God and give praise to your Savior. God loves you more than you will ever know. Thank Him for all the good in your life. Put your hope in God and rely on Him to get you through even the darkest of days.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 54:4
Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
Throughout the Bible there are stories of people who were in difficult situations but they made it through because they trusted in the Lord. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He helps those who put their faith, hope and trust in Him. Confidently look to God for help in all circumstances.
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 6:19
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
If our hope is anchored in Jesus, when we go through storms we can be confident that we will remain connected, safe and secure. Whatever storm we face we can trust that Jesus will never leave us and our hope is never misplaced.
Verse of the Day: Luke 13:12
When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you
are set free from your infirmity.”
Jesus already knows your condition and He is calling you because He has
compassion for you. If you need healing
come to Jesus, He can heal your mind, body and soul. The first step in healing
is coming to Jesus, the second is faith. He can set you free from whatever
chains are holding you down.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 62:5
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
There may be times when all your efforts lead to disappointment, your plans don’t work out or your situation seems hopeless. Don’t lose hope, turn to God, leave it all in His sovereign hands. When you put your problems in God’s hands He puts peace in your heart.
