Living by Faith

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 2:20     

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me. 

Are you living a life focused on yourself? Are you living a life without purpose or peace?  In order to get to where God wants you to be you have to leave your old life and your old ways in the past. Surrender your life to God and focus on the future He has planned for you. Christ now lives in you and you don’t have to live by your own power or strength anymore. Start living by faith in Jesus Christ who loves you so much He died on the cross for you.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for loving me so much You were willing to die on the cross for me. Although I can never repay You, I will try my best to live every day for You. By faith, I surrender my life to You, my blessed Savior. Amen

Pray for Believers and Unbelievers

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 3:16-18          

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Just like the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, we need to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they may be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit. We also need to pray for our family, friends, even our enemies and the world in general so that they would come to know Jesus Christ our Savior and invite Him into their heart and experience His infinite love first hand. Pray that they would come to truly know the Lord, His grace, glory and how much He really does love them.

Lord, I’m so thankful for Your love and mercy. Your love is better than life itself. I pray that You would dwell in the hearts of my family and loved ones so that they would be able to experience Your love for themselves. You are so glorious, Lord, and I invite You into my life and into my heart. Amen

Avoid Negativity

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 3:10         

For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.

What comes out of your mouths shows the kind of person you are. In a world where you can be anything you want to be choose to be kind, encouraging, sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble. Keep from speaking foul, obscene or unwholesome words. Don’t lie or say hurtful things to anyone and stop yourself from gossiping. Instead, speak blessings and encouragement so that you too will be blessed and encouraged. Avoid all negativity by speaking positivity over your life so that you would enjoy your days. Start your day with prayer and connect with God to receive encouragement, peace and strength to face the day ahead.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your loving kindness, thank you for giving me peace and a changed heart. Help me to be kind, encouraging, sympathetic, loving and compassionate to everyone around me so that I may honor you with my actions and words.  Amen

God Will Fight for You

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 2:23         

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.   It’s in our nature to want to protect ourselves when we are being attacked whether it’s by insults, criticism or lies. We want to fight back and retaliate with more of the same. We want to defend ourselves with our own arguments. But when Jesus was being insulted and suffering He did not retaliate. He put His trust in His Heavenly Father and He trusted in God’s will to be done. Put your trust in God and let Him be your defender, He will fight for you and He will judge your enemies accordingly.

Lord, Thank you for always being there for me and for being my strength when I am weak. Thank you for always fighting for me. Help me to be still as I trust in your will. I know that no matter what battles I face, you are with me. Amen

God Is with You

Verse of the Day:   Isaiah 41:10        

Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  

God is telling you not to be afraid because He is with you. What better reassurance can you get? God Himself is saying that you shouldn’t be frightened because He is your God and He’s going to be with you to strengthen, help and defend you not because you are righteous but because He is righteous. Don’t let fear keep you from what God has planned for you instead, start relying on God’s promises to support, comfort and strengthen you and start being fearless.

Strength Renewed

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 40:31         

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.          

As the year 2020 comes to a close we can thank God for seeing us through another year. It was a year unlike any we may have ever been through. There was so much happening from the coronavirus to social unrest and even a contentious election. Many people lost their lives, others lost their jobs and almost everyone was quarantined and isolated from the people they love. The new year will soon be here and it’s the perfect time for new beginnings and new possibilities. It’s the perfect time to look toward the future and to hope for better days. Whatever you may currently be going through rely on God and put your hope in Him to give you strength and fortitude. Trust in the Lord to renew and refresh your spirit. Don’t forget, you are more than conquerors through Christ who loves you and each new day brings new beginnings, new opportunities and new possibilities.

Intercession by the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:26

Verse of the Day:  Romans 8:26       

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.        

Even on our best days we may struggle to find the words to pray. We may lack the wisdom to know exactly what we need but the Holy Spirit is there to help us. And on our worse days, we may come before God feeling defeated and overwhelmed to the point where words cannot convey what we want or need to say. Tears may stream down our face as we humbly come before the almighty God. It’s okay if we don’t have the right words or any words at all. The Holy Spirit searches our heart, will intercede for us and help us by interpreting what is in our heart. The Holy Spirit that lives in us also helps us to remember God’s promises, reminds us of God’s love, acts as a comforter in our suffering and gives us strength. Let the Holy Spirit work in you, lead you and guide you through prayer and in life.

Brag About the Lord

1 Corinthians 1:31

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 1:31           

Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

True wisdom is not found in your own understanding, strength is not found in your own power and wealth is not found in earthly riches. They are found in knowing the one true living God. I cannot boast about anything I have because I know that every good gift comes from my Father above. Everything I have and everything I am is because of God’s unfailing love, mercy and saving grace.  The only thing I can boast about is knowing the Lord. I can boast about His kindness, justice and righteousness. I can brag about what He’s done for me, how He changed my life and how He saved a wretch like me.

Look to the Lord for Strength

Verse of the Day:  1 Chronicles 16:11          

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.     

No matter how many times you cry out to God for strength He will be there. He hears you every single time. Don’t give up, don’t stop seeking the Lord. Don’t let anything keep you from seeking His face. God will give you the strength you need to get through anything. No matter what you face He is by your side and He will never leave you. If your soul is weary, if you’re going through troubled waters, if you’re facing temptations, whatever trials you are going through pour your heart out to God because He promises not only to give you strength but to be your strength.           

Christ Strengthens Us

Verse of the Day:   Philippians 4:13  

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.        

Christ strengthens us in everything we do and His power is not limited to spirituality. With Jesus on our side we can bear any trial or adversity and we can be content in in all situations. He also strengthens us in whatever areas of our life we are weak or struggling, including physical, emotional and financial battles. Changing our old ways and habits can be hard when we try to do it by our own strength and often we fail. The good news is we don’t have to do it all alone or by our own strength.  We have Jesus on our side and we “can” do all things through Christ who strengthens us. By faith Jesus lives in us and that means we have His strength in us. Give whatever you are struggling with or stressed about over to Jesus and let Him be your strength and your guide.
