Verse of the Day: Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
We are all going through a lot right now. Let your love for God and your gratitude for His mercy and goodness inspire you to share His love and with others. Let’s motivate each other and encourage acts of love and service for those in need so that our heavenly Father may be glorified. We need to do something, help somebody, tell someone about Jesus, if not us then who will?
Verse of the Day: John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
When you have the love of God in your heart it shows. Your love for God is not found in your outward appearance but in the way you treat others. If you truly have the love of God in your heart you will show it by being kind, generous and loving so all may see God’s love through you. Especially in this current climate, we have the opportunity to share the love of God with others. A couple of ways you can show love to one another are to check up on elders and neighbors and donate goods to food pantries or homeless shelters. There are also some volunteer opportunities available in your local community for those in need. Above all else, pray for the sick, for healthcare workers, first responders, our government and everyone else affected by this global crisis.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 25:40
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
As believers in Christ we should be known for our good deeds. We don’t do them because we are trying to get into heaven. Jesus already made the way for us. We do good deeds because of the grace that has been shown to us. We do good deeds because we have the love of God inside of us and we do good deeds because we want to be more like Christ. Love is kind and God commands us to love one another. Be kind, practice random acts of kindness and charity not because of who they are but because of who you are, a child of God. Share God’s goodness with those in need. Do what you can as often as you can for as many as you can.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:28
Don’t say to your neighbor, “Go and come back; I’ll give it to you tomorrow,” when you have it.
God has been generous to us and has supplied all of our needs and therefore, we should be generous to others. Throughout the Bible God reminds us that we are to help the poor and those in need. We have been blessed so we, ourselves, can bless others. We’re not guaranteed tomorrow, let’s help the people we can today. Now is always the best time to help someone in need, tomorrow may be too late. If God puts in your heart to help someone don’t think about it, just do it.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:27
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
If you are in a position to be of assistance to someone don’t walk away or turn your back on them when they need your help. You are called to show God’s love, kindness and mercy to those in need. Be generous not only with your money but also with your time and talents by letting God work through you to help the destitute. He will not forget the effort and love you show them.
