Gifts from Above

Verse of the Day:  James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Every good thing we have in our lives and all our blessing are gifts from our heavenly Father. The devil tries to remind us of the hard times we’ve gone through, the illnesses, the losses and every trial we’ve ever faced just so we’ll forget about all the good things God has done for us. But do not be deceived for God is good all the time. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the source of every good thing! Instead of counting your troubles, make a list of all the good things in your life and make time to thank your heavenly Father for all your blessings!

Godly Wisdom

James 3:17

Verse of the Day:  James 3:17

Wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

There is a difference between people who have Godly wisdom and people who are wise in their own eyes. Godly wisdom comes from the Lord and it gives us the desire to live a life that is obedient and respectful to God and His holiness no matter what trials we face. It helps us to see the best in people, to be patient and to forgive others and it also help us to step back in the interest of peace when appropriate. It allows us to be open to receiving good advice and godly counsel. It compels us to be merciful and compassionate toward all people leading us to do the good works God has already planned for us with a sincere and impartial heart. How do we get this wisdom? God reveals it through the Holy Spirit and through His Word to every believer in Christ who asks in faith.

Look to the Lord for Strength

Verse of the Day:  1 Chronicles 16:11

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

No matter how many times you cry out to God for strength He will be there. He hears you every single time. Don’t give up, don’t stop seeking the Lord. Don’t let anything keep you from seeking His face. God will give you the strength you need to get through anything. No matter what you face He is by your side and He will never leave you. If your soul is weary, if you’re going through troubled waters, if you’re facing temptations, whatever trials you are going through pour your heart out to God because He promises not only to give you strength but to be your strength.

Christ Strengthens Us

Verse of the Day:   Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Christ strengthens us in everything we do and His power is not limited to spirituality. With Jesus on our side we can bear any trial or adversity and we can be content in in all situations. He also strengthens us in whatever areas of our life we are weak or struggling, including physical, emotional and financial battles. Changing our old ways and habits can be hard when we try to do it by our own strength and often we fail. The good news is we don’t have to do it all alone or by our own strength.  We have Jesus on our side and we “can” do all things through Christ who strengthens us. By faith Jesus lives in us and that means we have His strength in us. Give whatever you are struggling with or stressed about over to Jesus and let Him be your strength and your guide.

God’s Grace

Verse of the Day:   2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

God’s grace is enough to transform any situation. The more you trust in God the more His strength and power are evident in your life. When you are weak call on the Lord, He will strengthen and support you as you go through trials. He will comfort and refresh your spirit as you trust in Him. It may not be easy, but when you surrender to God, He will give you peace like no other. The world we live in has changed drastically and the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour but God’s saving grace gives you the victory. In all your times of need, have faith that God’s grace is enough to see you through and trust in Him with all your heart.

Be There for Each Other

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

In life there will be times when you need encouragement and there will be times when you need to encourage others. There will be times when you go through hardships and need someone to lean on and there will be times when someone will need to lean on you. We all face temptation, trials and we most definitely all have shortcomings. As brothers and sisters in Christ we need to be there for one another sympathizing, showing compassion and praying for each another. It’s also our duty to love one another and to share the love of Christ by more than just caring about each other but by action. When God gives us the opportunity to help someone it’s our responsibility to step up and take action in whatever way we are able.

Trust God

Psalm 31 14

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 31:14

But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.”

In the best of times and in the worst of times you can trust in the Lord your God to be with you. By faith, you can leave all your troubles at the feet of your heavenly Father. Believe and know in your heart that He is on His mighty throne ready to protect you, to defend you and to help you in your current situation. He is the one and only true living God and in Him you can depend on whenever trials befall you. Man may fail you but God never will. Turn to Him, cling to Him because He is merciful and because He loves you more than anyone else ever can or ever will.
