Christmas is For-giving

Matthew 6 14-15

Verse of the Day:        Matthew 6:14-15

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

We have all made mistakes, none of us are perfect. There are times we need to ask for forgiveness and there are times we need to forgive. How can we come to God asking for forgiveness when we ourselves have not forgiven? I know there are some things that seem unforgivable but when we hold on to blame and unforgiveness it creates an environment of bitterness in our own heart. Life is short and we don’t know what tomorrow holds. Trust in God and let go of the anger and give the gift of forgiveness not only to the offender but to yourself as well.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 7:  Thankful for God’s Blessings

2 Corinthians 9 11 b.jpg

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 9:11

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

I am thankful for all of God’s blessings. This year was a tough year for our family. My husband was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer. By the grace of God, he is now cancer free, but there were times we didn’t know how we were going to pay the bills or put food on the table. When we couldn’t see a way, God made a way. He touched the hearts of many to help us along the way and for that we are forever grateful. Our faith was made stronger with each and every act of generosity. If we trust in God, He will always provide for us and He even makes a way for us to be a blessing to others. God blesses us so we can generously pour out our blessings to others, which results in thanksgiving to God.

Knowing and Trusting God

Psalm 9 10.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 9:10

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

The only way to know God is to seek Him with all of your heart.  Spend time with Him in prayer, read the Holy Bible and really make an effort to understand who He is. The more you seek God in faith, the more you will come to know Him. You will know His true nature, power, wisdom, faithfulness and goodness. When you experience God’s love, grace and mercy for yourself you will come to completely trust in Him and realize that He is always there for you.

Faith Over Fear

Psalm 56 3

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

David was afraid for his life yet he trusted in God. If he had let fear over take his faith, he may have had a different outcome. Likewise, the enemy will use fear to keep you from the plans God has for your life.  He knows if he keeps putting doubts and fear in your mind you will never step out in faith to accomplish what God has planned for you. Turn to God, put your trust in Him alone. When you are afraid, step out in faith knowing that God is with you and He will equip you for what He has called you to do.  So many people never achieve the success God has planned for them because they are too afraid to take the first step. Don’t let fear keep you from living the life God has planned for you.

God’s Grace

2 Corinthians 12 9

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

God’s grace is enough to transform any situation. The more you trust in God the more His strength and power are evident in your life. When you are weak call on the Lord, He will strengthen and support you as you go through trials. He will comfort and refresh your spirit as you trust in Him. It may not be easy, but when you surrender to God, He will give you peace like no other. The world we live in has changed drastically and the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour but God’s saving grace gives you the victory.

God’s Timing

Habakkuk 2 3

Verse of the Day:  Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end; it will not lie, if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

We need to learn patience while we stay persistent in prayer, never giving up, all the while trusting in God and in His timing.  Though we may not know the exact time God has already determined we do know that God keeps His promises. We cannot rush Him, but we can be sure He will not disappoint and while we wait on Him we must remain faithful.  God’s timing is perfect, never late and always on time.

Experience God for Yourself

Psalm 34 8

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

I am personally inviting you to experience the infinite goodness of the Lord. He is perfect in every way, the author of all good things, everything about Him is good and He loves you. Turn to Him, put your hope in Him and put your trust in Him alone. He is the only one that can fill your heart with peace. You will never know what it’s like to have a relationship with the Lord until you make an effort to really seek and experience Him for yourself. A good place to start is by praying and reading the Word of God.
