Trust in the Lord

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 26:4

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Building trust takes time but the more you get to know God, the more your trust in Him will grow.  When we think about a rock we think of something solid, strong, supportive and able to withstand pressure and when we call a person our rock they usually have the same attributes. God is the same way, you can always rely on Him and when you truly trust in God you will experience the perfect peace that comes from knowing that He is in control. Worrying doesn’t change a thing, instead of focusing on your problems put your efforts into getting closer to God. Let go of worry and let God have His way in your life.

Dear God, thank You for being my rock in all situations. I trust in You with all my heart and no matter what I’m going through I know that You are there for me. Lord, I give You all my worries and my fears. I turn to You for strength and peace because I know You are in control. Wrap Your loving arms around me, Lord, protect me from the storm. Amen

Love the Lord Your God

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 22:37

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

I was feeling a little discouraged, tired and disheartened so I began to search for a Bible verse to help me feel better. The Lord gave me this verse and instantly I felt inspired. I remembered that it’s not about focusing on me, it’s about focusing on God. The best thing we can do in all situations is to love the Lord with all our hearts, soul and mind and He will take care of the rest.

Lord, thank you for always being there when I need you. You are such a good father to me and I praise your holy name. Help me to remember that when I’m feeling overwhelmed I can turn to you for peace and comfort. I trust in you, Lord, to get me through difficult times. I will do my best to keep my eyes focused on you and to love you with all my heart, soul and mind in every situation. Amen

A Two-Step Process

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 37:3

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

God’s promises are often conditional. In other words, you have to do your part first and then God will do His part. There is a two-step process to receive this promise from God. The Lord will take care of all your needs but you need to trust in Him and do good. Notice the verse says “and” do good, not “or” do good. While you are waiting and trusting on God to fulfill His promise have faith. Moreover, do good, always keeping His commandments and doing things that are pleasing to Him.

Dear Lord, Thank you for all your promises that have been fulfilled. Thank you for blessing me much more than I could ever deserve. I trust in you, Lord, to provide everything that I need. Help me to remain faithful and to do good while I wait on the fulfillment of promises that are yet to come.  Amen

God Isn’t Finished with You Yet

Philippians 1:6

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Have you ever felt like it was taking way too long for God to change you? Maybe you have some bad habits or qualities you want to change or you feel you should be further along in your spiritual growth. You may have even wished you could rush God into changing you over night. I know I have, we all do, but it just doesn’t happen that way. Life is a journey that begins when we give our life to Jesus and happens one step at a time. Our final destination is heaven and along the way God is working on us, changing us, growing our faith and making us more like Christ. Be confident that in His own way and in His own timing He is changing you. We know this because He always finishes what He starts. When you feel like you’re not changing fast enough, have faith and trust that God is still working on you. As long as you don’t give up He will continue to work on those who love Him until Jesus comes for His church.

God’s Will Not Mine

Luke 22:41-42

Verse of the Day:  Luke 22:41-42

He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Jesus gave us the example of how to pray, especially when going through something difficult and life changing. First, In Luke 22:41 it says He went a little farther leaving the disciples behind so He could be alone. Intense prayer needs privacy, sometimes it just needs to be you and God alone, no one else, no distractions. Second, He knelt down and prayed. Kneeling to God shows humility, respect and honor. Third, He prayed to God saying, “Father if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Jesus knew what was ahead and He asked His Father, if He was willing, to change the outcome that had already been set in motion. Then He relinquished His own will to the will of God. We too must voluntarily hand over our stress, our problems, our worries and our lives to God and let His will be done. God has a purpose and a plan for your life and He knows everything from beginning to end. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and pray for His will to be done in your life.

Peaceful Nights

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 3:5

I lie down and sleep: I wake again because the Lord sustains me.

Even in the battles you can find peace because God is with you. When you give all your cares, fears and troubles to the Lord, He will give you rest for your soul. When you trust in the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul and surrender your life to Him, He alone will give you peace unlike anything you’ve ever known. God will allow you to lie down and sleep peacefully knowing that He is in control and He is working everything out for the good of those who love Him. When you wake each morning, thank God for another day of life and praise Him for His goodness and mercy.

Walk in the Light

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 18:28

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

It’s not easy living in a world full of hate, violence and darkness. But when you trust in the Lord with all your heart His light shines down on you because He is the light of the world. Out of His love, grace and mercy He alone will give you the strength and faith you need to keep walking in the light and you will not be overcome. Be faithful to God and you will see that He is everything He promises to be.

God Is My Salvation

Isaiah 12 2 2

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 12:2

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

With all the uncertainty in the world around us we can remain unafraid because our trust is in God our Savior. We can face anything because God is our strength and our salvation. I don’t know who needs to hear this today but I’m here to remind you that God loves you and it doesn’t matter who or what is against you because God is for you. No matter what you’re facing God can turn it around. He has been there for you in the past, He is there for you now and He will always be there for you. Trust in the Lord Jehovah not only to give you strength but to be your strength, your song, and your salvation.

God Has the Answers

Proverbs 3 5 a

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Trust in the Lord, not in yourself, not in your own wisdom, understanding or feelings.  Not in your education, in your profession or in the world. Trust in God the Father at all times. Trust in His love, grace and mercy. God knows everything from the beginning to the end. He knew you before you were born and He knows the plans He has for your future. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, surrender to His will, obey His commands and know that He loves you with an everlasting love. Trust in the Word of God to guide and direct you and in His promises for He is faithful. We may not have the answers but we know the One who does. Jesus is the answer.
