Doers of the Word

Verse of the Day: James 1:22

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Hearing the Word of God without applying it into your life is self-deception. It’s similar to reading a diet book and expecting to lose weight without changing your habits. Transformation needs a steadfast commitment to apply God’s teachings into the very fabric of your existence. It requires a lifestyle shift and dedication to making it a way of life, not just a Sunday event. Doers of the Word hear it, understand it, receive it, and obey it.

Hear and Obey

Verse of the Day: Luke 11:28

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Merely listening to the Word of God isn’t enough; you must also obey it. Wholeheartedly embrace it, putting it into practice in your daily life. Invite the Word to settle within you and transform your heart, mind, and soul. Engage with the Word through attentive listening, diligent study, and unwavering obedience and you will witness its transformative power unfold, becoming a light unto your path filled with blessings and guidance.

Move Forward by Faith

Verse of the Day: Philippians 3:13

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.

The weight of “would haves,” “could haves,” and “should haves” hold you back, hindering your progress. None among us are perfect; we have regrets and think about choices we wish we could change. Yet, the key to moving forward lies in letting go of the past. By the grace of God, your sins have been forgiven and forgotten. To walk confidently into the future, you must walk away from the shackles of the past. Your soul can heal, regardless of what happened to you or the choices you’ve made, when you give them to God. Move forward with unwavering faith, refusing to let the hurt and pain of the past keep you from the joy God has planned for your future.

Live Wisely

Verse of the Day: Ephesians 5:15-16

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

In these troubled times, it’s all too simple to veer off course from the path set by God. It’s important that we navigate life with mindful intent and purpose. Jesus stands as the example of righteousness and honorable life, offering a guiding light for our journey. Let diligence and discernment be your compass, seizing each moment with intention and unwavering devotion to the Lord. Seek God’s wisdom for every decision in your daily life and He will gladly give it to those who earnestly seek it.

Heads or Tails?

Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 28:13

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

By heeding the commands given to you by the Lord your God, and faithfully adhering to them, you secure a position of elevation, not at the bottom. God’s desire is for your prosperity and abundance. Deuteronomy 28:13 emphasizes the conditions of this promise – if you opt for obedience, blessings will be upon you. Yet, God never imposes His will but offers you the freedom of choice. Will you ascend as the head or descend as the tail, rise to the summit or sink to the valley? The power to decide rests with you. Embrace obedience to God, and you will find His favor, instead of choosing disobedience and condemnation.

More of Jesus, Less of Me

Verse of the Day: John 3:30

He must become greater; I must become less.

More of Jesus, less of me in all things, let there be an overflow of Jesus. Our hearts, lives, relationships, families, churches, workplaces, schools, communities, and the world itself need the presence of Jesus. Amidst the chaos of the world, where darkness seems to prevail – Jesus is the light of the world. Whoever follows Jesus will not walk in darkness, but will have the light in their life, for it is the beacon of hope amidst despair. Invite Jesus into your heart, allowing His light to permeate every part of our existence, shining brightly for all to see.

To Him I Belong

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 10:23

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.

The devil tries to trick you and whispers, “This is your life, do as you please.” But we know his deceitful ways, he is a liar and such thinking leads only to sin and unhappiness. The truth is that your life is not your own, you belong to God our creator. Through accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you were reborn, transformed into a new creation. He has a plan and a purpose for your life, promising to direct your steps in the way you should go and to guide you toward righteousness. Place your trust in the Lord and let the Holy Spirit guide you like a lighthouse to the path of truth and obedience, which leads to an eternity in heaven.

Happy Mother’s Day

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 31:28

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

If you are blessed  to have your mother in your life, cherish her as the Lord commands. Offer prayers for her well-being, seeking God’s blessings and protection to be upon her always. Show unwavering devotion, respect, and love, recognizing that her presence is a precious gift not to be taken for granted. Acknowledge that time is fleeting, and while she is here, make every moment count. Address any grievances with humility and seek God’s guidance for forgiveness and reconciliation. If you are blessed with the role of a mother, aim to be an example of virtue and love for your children. Pray earnestly that they too may honor and cherish you as you have honored your own mother, creating a legacy of love and respect for generations to come.

Honor Her

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 31:31

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Mothers deserve heartfelt appreciation and honor for their tireless dedication to their families. Often, their countless contributions go unnoticed and uncelebrated. They selflessly make sacrifices fueled by love, faith, hope, humility, and patience. Let us acknowledge the fruits of her labor, both in private and in public. Give thanks to God for the gift of our mothers and pray for Him to bless them in a special way.

A Confident Woman of God

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 31:25

Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future.

A virtuous woman of God carries herself with strength and honor in her attitude and her behavior. She is in control of her actions and does everything with purpose and uprightness. She is respected for more than her outward appearance, she is respected for her godliness and holiness. She is confident because she knows God is with her and in control of her life and the future.
