Verse of the Day: Acts 18:9
One night the Lord spoke to Paul, “Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.
The Apostle Paul was in Corinth where his safety may have been at risk for sharing the Good News. It would have been so much easier to just stay quiet but the Lord directed him to not be afraid, to keep speaking and to not be silent and because Paul obeyed the Lord the church in Corinth flourished. We’re living in a society where everyone wants to give their opinion on anything and everything. As believers in Christ we must be courageous and willing to stand up for what we believe in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with the world. The world needs to know that Jesus came to save them. Don’t worry if you don’t know the right words to say, just tell them what God has done for you.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil.
During an argument, in the heat of the moment sometimes we say things we don’t mean and may later regret. We let our anger get the best of us and we lose control of our emotions. Anger in itself is not necessarily a sin but how we handle that anger and letting it control us is where we cross the line. The Bible says that one of the fruits of the Spirit is self-control and so with the help of the Lord we must learn to control our emotions. In order to learn to control our anger we should first acknowledge it and then pray about it, confessing our weaknesses to God and asking Him to help us deal with any underlying issues that may be causing our anger to surface in such a way. There are many techniques and resources that can help you with anger management and in some cases you might also want to seek help from your pastor or a professional.
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 6:18
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.
The Bible tells us that God cannot lie and His promises are unchangeable. We can be confident in and count on God’s promises for all eternity. Not only can we count on God’s promises but we can also live our lives by them. By faith we can receive and claim each and every promise God makes through His everlasting Word. The firm believer in God’s promises is comforted in all situations by the hope and encouragement they have in trusting and patiently waiting on the promises of God to be fulfilled either in this world or in heaven.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 139:16
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Before you were ever born, God saw you and He knew all about you. He knew everything from your first day to your last. He still knows everything about you, He even knows every hair on your head. He sees you, He hears you, He knows your thoughts and He knows your heart. He knows your past and He knows the plans He has for your future. More than anything God wants you to know how much He loves you and He wants you to know and love Him too. It’s up to you to not only know of Him and of His works, but to seek to know Him personally.
Verse of the Day: Ephesians 1:17
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.
My deepest desire is that I may know God more and that I may grow closer to Him with every day, week, month and year that passes. My hope is that I may continue to gain wisdom and revelation that brings me closer to God. I want a deeper relationship with my God that helps me to live a life more pleasing to Him. I want my creator to fix what is broken in me, to heal what the world has hurt in me so that I can be who He created me to be. I want more of you, God, less of me and more of you.
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
There is so much negativity in the world, on social media and everywhere we look. Instead of spreading negativity speak words of encouragement, pray for one another, remind each other of God’s wonderful promises. God has called each one of us to encourage each other daily. Don’t let sin harden your heart, instead be kind to one another. You never know what someone may be going through and a kind word may help them get through the day.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 37:3
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
God’s promises are often conditional. In other words, you have to do your part and God will do His part. There is a two-step process to receive this promise from God. The Lord will take care of all your needs but you need to trust in Him and do good. Notice the verse says “and” do good, not “or” do good. While you are waiting and trusting on God to fulfill His promise have faith. Moreover, do good, always keeping his commandments and doing the things that are pleasing to the Him.
