Give God the Glory!

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 63:3

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

Our life, health, job, riches, friends and family and everything else are meaningless without the love of God. Everything here on earth is temporary but God’s love for us is forever and nothing can ever separate us from His love. We have so much to be grateful for and when we begin to glorify God for all He has done for us we will see that His love is better than life itself.

Fruit of the Spirit: Our worst day with God is better than our best day without Him. God’s Love for you is better than anything this world could ever give you. Love the Lord with all your heart and give Him the Glory!

My Rock

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; in whom I will trust.

When we have a personal relationship with God we learn to trust Him in all situations. We can turn to God to shelter us from the storms of life and to deliver us from all our troubles. We know that no matter what is going on around us we can count on Him to be there for us. People may fail you but God never will, He always keeps His promises.

Fruit of the Spirit: Rely on God to give you Peace and to help you get through anything because He Loves you.

Keep on Speaking

Verse of the Day:  Acts 18:9

One night the Lord spoke to Paul, “Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.

The Apostle Paul was in Corinth where his safety was at risk for sharing the Good News. It would have been so much easier to just stay quiet but the Lord directed him to not be afraid, to keep speaking and to not be silent and because Paul obeyed the Lord, the church in Corinth flourished. We’re living in a society where everyone wants to give their opinion on anything and everything. As believers in Christ we must be courageous and willing to stand up for what we believe in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with the world. The world needs to know that Jesus came to save them.

Fruit of the Spirit: With Kindness and Gentleness, tell somebody about Jesus and what He’s done for you.

Don’t You Give Up

Verse of the Day:  1 Kings 18:43-44

“Go and look toward the sea”, he told his servant. And he went up and looked. There is nothing there,” he said. The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”

Even when you don’t see God working on your behalf He’s working. Even when you don’t feel God working for your good, He’s working. Keep trusting God, keep having faith in God, keep believing, keep hoping, keep praising Him and keep waiting for His favor no matter how long it takes for your prayers to be answered. God sees you and He hears you so don’t you give up. Praise God while you wait on Him even if it takes seven times or seven hundred times.

Fruit of the Spirit: Remain Faithful as you Patiently wait on the Lord. He hears your prayers so don’t you give up.

God Will Fight for You

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 2:23

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

It’s in our nature to want to protect ourselves when we are being attacked whether it’s by insults, criticism or lies. We want to fight back and retaliate with more of the same. We want to defend ourselves with our own arguments. But when Jesus was being insulted and suffering He did not retaliate. He put His trust in His Heavenly Father and He trusted in God’s will to be done. Put your trust in God and let Him be your defender, He will fight for you and He will judge your enemies accordingly.

Fruit of the Spirit: The battle belongs to God. He will fight for you. You need only to be still, while you practice Patience, Peace, and Self-Control.

Greater is He that is in You

Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We have been chosen and adopted by God as His own children. His unshakeable power lives in us and His Word is written on our heart as we experience His truth. Because God lives in us we are overcomers and by faith we have the victory over evil.

Fruit of the Spirit: Because the Holy Spirit lives in you, the Fruit of the Spirit will be evident in your life and you will have the victory over anything in this world that comes against you!

Worry or Worship

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Whatever it is that worries you whether it’s spiritual, physical, for yourself or for someone else bring it to God in prayer. Humbly come before your heavenly Father with a sincere heart and lay your burdens, your worries and your cares at His feet. Thank Him for what He’s done for you in the past, thank Him for hearing your prayer in the present and thank Him in advance for answering your prayer in the future. Come to Him with an honest heart, tell Him how you feel and what you need. He already knows, but He wants to hear it from you. The choice is yours, you can worry or you can worship but you can’t do both.

Fruit of the Spirit: Instead of worrying, practice Patience and let God’s Peace fill your mind and soul.

A Two-Step Process

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 37:3

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

God’s promises are often conditional. In other words, you have to do your part first and then God will do His part. There is a two-step process to receive this promise from God. The Lord will take care of all your needs but you need to trust in Him and do good. Notice the verse says “and” do good, not “or” do good.

Fruit of the Spirit: While you are Patiently waiting and trusting on God to fulfill His promise have Faith, be Kind and do Good for those in your community.

Daily Encouragement

Verse of the Day:   Hebrews 3:13

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

There is so much negativity in the world, on the news, on social media and just about everywhere we look. Instead of spreading negativity speak words of encouragement, pray for one another, remind each other of God’s wonderful promises. God has called each one of us to encourage each other daily. Don’t let sin harden your heart, instead be kind to one another. You never know what someone may be going through and something as simple as a kind word may help them get through their day.

Fruit of the Spirit: Practice Kindness, it doesn’t cost a thing to encourage someone or pray for them.

Forgiven

Verse of the Day:   Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

No matter how big your sin is, no matter how long you’ve sinned, no matter what you’ve done, your sins have been forgiven through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. What once was scarlet, is now white as snow. You don’t have to live with the guilt and shame from your past because Jesus paid the ultimate price for you and your debt has been forgiven. Jesus has settled the matter for you and you have been made righteous in the eyes of God.

Fruit of the Spirit: Righteousness is given through Faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Because of God’s grace and mercy, He has promised to forgive those who confess and repent from their sins. Peace and Joy have replaced guilt and shame.
